Female jail officer faces court for relationship with prisoner in Notts

A Notts prison officer will appear in court charged with having a relationship with a prisoner.

Joanne Elliott, 40, of Moorland Close, Sutton was charged with wilful misconduct while serving as a public office, when she appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court, on May 21.

It is alleged the offence took place at HMP Lowdham Grange, between March 25, 2018, and February 8, 2019.

She was given unconditional bail to appear at Nottingham Crown Court, on June 18.
